Abstract Background Antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARB) usually enter water sources in different ways, such as via municipal and hospital wastewaters. Because conventional technologies used to treat inefficient removing these contaminants (especially antibiotic-resistant genes; ARGs), easily drinking distribution networks pose serious threats consumers’ health. This study’s main purpose is systematically investigate the effect of chlorine disinfection on ARGs supply systems. study could play an important role elucidating ARGs. Methods The systematic review outlining this protocol will be performed according Collaboration for Environmental Evidence (CEE) guidelines. question is, “what systems?” For purpose, articles considered, which chlorine’s investigated. search includes electronic resources, grey literature, related websites. Electronic resources include Scopus, PubMed, Embase, Web Science Core Collection, Direct. After final search, obtained collected reference management software (Endnote X8). Upon duplicate articles, first stage article screening based title abstract articles. In second stage, from screened full text eligibility criteria. Then, two members expert team extract data. To assess validity bias determined by team. Biases defined criteria designed Bilotta et al. Finally, a narrative synthesis extracted data; if appropriate data are available, quantitative analysis also performed.
